Mentor Support Network (MSN) is pleased to advise that it received a large number of applications from many parts of the Hunter Region for its 2021 educational scholarship program.
Our Scholarship Committee has just reviewed 55 applications in awarding 37 scholarships valued at $60,000 to assist students in 2021.
Chair of the committee, Jane Kift, said applications were received from students at high schools and training colleges and that 2021 scholarship recipients lived in a number of local government areas, Newcastle leading the way with 23 successful applications.
We are very happy to see six students in Maitland receive scholarships while five were awarded to Lake Macquarie students, two to Cessnock students and one student living in Singleton, said Jane.
The successful students are currently being notified about their scholarships and we will offer individualised mentoring to those students who need help in selecting computers or appropriately using their scholarship funding.
MSN is planning to hold a presentation ceremony in early March next year where the 37 students will receive certificates to acknowledge their success.
